Fall Around Franklin & Nashville: Festivals, Family Fun, and Spooky Celebrations

Autumn in Middle Tennessee is one of the most magical times of the year. The air turns crisp, the leaves begin to glow, and the community comes alive with celebrations that bring families and neighbors together. From downtown Franklin’s festive streets to Nashville’s beloved zoo and vineyard gatherings, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this fall season.

PumpkinFest Returns to Downtown Franklin

Downtown Franklin will once again transform into a fall wonderland as the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County’s PumpkinFest returns on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Now in its 40th year, this beloved event has grown into Middle Tennessee’s largest family fall festival, drawing thousands to Main Street for a full day of festive fun.

Visitors can explore over 140 arts and crafts vendors, 30 food and beverage booths, and plenty of entertainment. Enjoy live music across three stages, family-friendly activities in the KidZone presented by Hope UC Nashville, and the ever-popular costume contests for both people and pets.

Don’t miss Autumn Alley, filled with games, crafts, and fall-themed fun, or stop by The Franklin Theatre for classic cartoons on the big screen. Downtown merchants will also celebrate with special deals and seasonal offerings, while the Scarecrow Crawl invites guests to visit local shops, enjoy treats, and even win prizes.

With its mix of music, community, and small-town charm, PumpkinFest remains a Franklin favorite that perfectly captures the spirit of fall.

Boo at the Zoo: Nashville’s Favorite Family Halloween Event

Looking for a little Halloween magic? Head to Boo at the Zoo, presented by Middle Tennessee Honda Dealers. This annual event transforms the Nashville Zoo into a glowing, not-too-spooky wonderland filled with fun for the whole family.

Kids can trick-or-treat at 10 themed stations, meet costumed characters, or take a spin on the Scary-Go-Round Carousel—free with admission. Families will love the Monster Mash Dance Floor, giant straw creatures, and Storytime with the Old Oakley Tree, while adults can enjoy festive cocktails and fall-inspired treats from local vendors.

This year also features a special DĂa de los Muertos celebration on November 1, honoring loved ones through food, music, and cultural traditions.

Whether it’s your first time or an annual tradition, Boo at the Zoo offers the perfect mix of fall fun and Halloween charm in the heart of Nashville.
